These terms apply when you use skillsmart.io, the Skillsmart command-line tool, and the skills we distribute (together, the "Services"). By using the Services you agree to them. If you use the Services for a company or other organisation, you confirm you're allowed to accept these terms on its behalf.
1. What Skillsmart is
Skillsmart is a curated collection of skills for AI apps such as Claude, Cursor and Codex. A skill is a folder of instructions, templates, scripts and assets that your AI app uses to produce work like web pages, decks, posters and motion. Previews on the site show example results; what you get is the skill package itself, and your results will depend on your AI app, model and inputs.
AI apps and models change without our control, so we can't promise that every skill will keep working with every app, model or operating system.
2. Your account
Give us an accurate email address and keep access to it secure: anyone who can read your email or use your Google account can sign in as you. You're responsible for what happens through your account, including through computers you've connected to the command-line tool. Don't share install codes or access tokens, and don't use someone else's account or purchases. We may suspend an account that appears compromised, fraudulent or in breach of these terms.
3. Free skills, purchases and subscriptions
- Free skills are free to install once you've signed in.
- Pro skills bought on their own are a one-time purchase that unlocks that skill, including its future updates, for your account.
- Subscriptions (when offered) unlock every Pro skill while the subscription is active. They renew automatically each month or year until you cancel.
- Lifetime access (when offered) is a single payment that unlocks every Pro skill for as long as Skillsmart operates. It isn't a promise that the Services will run forever.
Prices, taxes and billing periods are shown before you pay. We may change prices or plans for the future, but that won't change a purchase you've already made.
4. Payments, cancellation and refunds
Payments are processed by Stripe, and you authorise the charges shown at checkout. You can cancel a subscription at any time from your Account page. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
Skills are digital products delivered immediately, so payments are generally non-refundable once a skill is available to you. However, if a Pro skill doesn't work as described and we can't fix it, email contact@skillsmart.io within 14 days of purchase and we'll refund you. We'll also refund duplicate or unauthorised charges. When a purchase is refunded, access to that skill ends.
Nothing in these terms limits any refund or cancellation rights you have under the law where you live.
5. Licence
When you install a skill, we give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it for your own work and for your clients' projects, including commercial work. The things you make with a skill are yours.
Unless a skill's own licence says otherwise, you may not resell, share, publish or redistribute the skill itself (its files, templates or scripts), or share your account, install codes or download links. Free skills may come with their own open licence, which applies instead. Your use of AI models, fonts, images and other third-party tools remains subject to their own terms.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- get around sign-in, payment, download or other access controls;
- copy or scrape Pro skills, or the catalogue, in bulk;
- interfere with the Services, overload them, or test their security without our written permission;
- use the Services or skills to break the law or infringe anyone's rights.
7. Changes to skills and the Services
We may update, fix, replace or withdraw skills for quality, security or legal reasons, and change or stop parts of the Services. Where we can, we'll avoid taking away skills you've paid for, but we can't guarantee any particular skill will stay available forever. Skills already installed on your computer keep working unless a skill depends on an outside service.
8. Your responsibilities when running skills
Skills run on your own computer through your AI app, and some include scripts. We check every skill before publishing it, but you should still review what your AI app does, keep backups of your work, and check AI-generated results before relying on them.
9. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the Services and skills are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't promise uninterrupted service, particular results, or that skills are error-free.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Skillsmart won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. These limits don't apply where the law doesn't allow them.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using the Services at any time, and ask us to delete your account by emailing contact@skillsmart.io. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly breach these terms, commit fraud, or if the law requires it. Sections that by their nature should continue (such as payment, licence limits, disclaimers and liability) survive.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. We'll update the date at the top, and for changes that significantly affect you, we'll tell you by email or on the site before they take effect. Continuing to use the Services after that means you accept the new terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of Singapore have jurisdiction, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts.
